About Solitaire Emperor - Secrets of Fate
Solitaire Emperor - Secrets of Fate is a solitaire game set in the world of Tarot cards. Every level deals a different arrangement with its own mix of mechanics, and the goal is always to clear the playing field, collecting coins for unbroken chains and for the cards you leave unused in the deck.
Clearing the field
A level is won by taking every card off the playing field. For all the Tarot theming, the order in which cards come off is the classic sequence of ranks, the one that runs from ace to king, queen, jack, ten and on down. The high cards are marked with letters: A for the ace, K for the king, Q for the queen, which the game also calls the lady, and J for the jack.
The layout itself changes from level to level. Each one is a fresh combination of cards with its own variety of mechanics, and the game counts on that to keep play exciting and hard to predict.
Coins from chains and from the deck
Coins come from two places. During a level, building continuous chains earns them. At the end, the cards still sitting in your deck are counted, and the more of them there are, the more coins you are paid. Gold cards matter for the first of those: using one means your chain is not interrupted.
When you run out of moves
Whenever the field offers nothing you can take, there are two ways forward: draw again from the deck, or throw down a gold card. It is worth weighing them rather than drawing by reflex. Every draw removes a card from the deck, and the cards left in the deck are exactly what pays coins at the end of the level. A gold card is the option the game ties to keeping a chain alive. So before you draw, scan the whole field for a card you may have missed, and when a chain is running, remember what a gold card can save.

FAQ
- What does it take to win a level?
- A clear playing field. Every card on it has to come off before the level counts as done.
- How are coins earned?
- In two ways. Continuous chains earn coins during a level, and at the end you receive more coins the more cards remain in the deck.
- What is a gold card for?
- Using one keeps your chain from being broken. It is also one of your two options when no move is left, the other being a draw from the deck.
