About AOD - Art Of Defense
AOD - Art Of Defense mixes tower defense with strategy and RPG elements, and sets the whole thing in a world after the apocalypse. You command the A.O.D squad against the ruthless gangs of Mr. Evil, who are hunting for something called the lost Project Inola, and your towers stand between them and your base.
Towers, upgrades and cards
At its core this is classic tower defense: build towers and keep your base safe. Where AOD goes further, going by its own description, is in how much each tower can grow. It lists more than 1,000 unique tower upgrades, covering towers such as tanks, miniguns and anti-aircraft guns, and each tower comes with hundreds of upgrade cards. With that many options, a large part of the game is deciding how each defense should develop, not just where to put it.
Heroes and heavy weapons
Towers are not your only tools. Six heroes can be discovered, leveled up and brought into battle, and the arsenal stretches to ballistic barrages, ion satellite strikes and nuclear bombs. Tanks, machine guns and rockets all have a place in your defense, nuclear rockets included. On the other side stand strong enemies and formidable bosses.
Where the battles happen
The fighting spreads across more than 500 sectors, each one a real-time battle, in locations that run from small villages up to vast cities. Besides the standard game there are extra tower defense modes called escape, fog and survival. The battlefields are drawn with isometric graphics, and zooming lets you move between a wide view of the field and a close look at exactly where a tower should go.
What is at stake
The story sets the survival of humanity against the destructive plans of Mr. Evil. You build up your tech kingdoms, hold the line at your base and decide whether the world is saved or falls into darkness.
