About Basketball Stars
Basketball Stars is a basketball game for one player, or two on a shared keyboard. You pick a team, play through a tournament and try to outscore your opponent with dunks and three-pointers, helped by a super shot that never misses.
Scoring and defending
Games are won the usual way, by putting the ball through the hoop more often than the other side, and you can score with dunks or with three-pointers. Defence is where Basketball Stars bends the rules of the real sport. Blocking is allowed, and so is slapping your opponent, which can knock him out and put the ball in your hands. The key that shoots also steals, so one button covers both attack and defence, and S does double duty as well, handling the pump and the block.
The super shot bar
Keep an eye on the bar at the top of the screen. Once it is fully loaded you can launch a special dunk from any spot on the court, and according to the description it never fails. That makes the bar worth watching throughout a game, because a full one means a certain basket is ready to use, however far from the hoop you happen to be.
One player or two
On your own, you move with WASD or the arrows, shoot or steal with X or L, pump or block with S, dash by tapping left or right twice and fire the super shot with K or Z. With a friend, the keyboard is split in two. Player one keeps WASD, with B to shoot and S to pump, while player two takes the arrow keys, with L to shoot and the down arrow to pump. Each dashes with a double tap to the side, and K is the super shot key. The description credits the game to MadPuffers and says it was prepared for the 2025 season.
