Why a simple rule still takes thought

The game sums up how to play in one line: drag the blocks until every coloured grid is full. Simple rules do not make a puzzle trivial, though. In any filling puzzle, each block you place changes the space that is left, so a move that looks fine now can leave an awkward gap later. Much of the thinking happens before you drag anything at all.

Planning your moves

Because the challenge is about space, a little planning goes a long way. Before you move a block, look over the whole grid and the blocks you have to work with. Tight or oddly shaped spots tend to be the hardest to fill, so it often pays to deal with them first while you still have choices. If a block seems to have nowhere useful to go, that is usually a sign that an earlier placement closed off the space it needed, and it is worth thinking about the order in which you fill things.
