Simple fights, real decisions

The fighting itself is deliberately basic; the game calls itself a one-click battle game, and combat asks little of your hands. Where it gets difficult is strategy. You have to use your army and your weapons well enough to finish off the other side before it finishes you and knocks down your fortress. Win, and you can upgrade your forces for the next fight, which is how the game expects you to keep pace with the rising difficulty.

Cave against cave

The game opens with your stone cave facing the enemy’s cave straight across the field. Troops are sent out with a click on a small icon at the bottom right of the screen. The catch is numbers: there can be moments when you simply do not have enough soldiers ready to answer what the opponent is sending. The goal on every level stays the same, to beat the rival army and bring down its shelter.

Climbing through the ages

As the levels go on, the fortresses advance with them, and the game grows harder era by era. Fighting starts with sticks and stones and eventually moves on to tanks and artillery, and the full journey runs from the warriors of the Stone Age to a science-fiction future in space. Along the way the game promises upgradable battle tanks, tower defense strategy for conquering each era, and survival battles of 100 against 100. Keeping your upgrades in step with ever tougher fortresses is the thread that runs through the whole game.
