Building toward space

The aim of Stack Rocket is height. You put your rocket together one part at a time, and the taller it gets, the closer you come to space. The catch is that the parts never keep still: each one travels from side to side above the rocket, and it is up to you to pick the moment to let it go.

Timing every drop

A good drop lands in the middle. The game wants each piece released when it is lined up exactly over the centre of the rocket, because a piece that lands off to one side makes the structure wobble, and a wobbling rocket can come crashing down. The hint the game gives is simple: be patient. Let the moving part travel until it is almost centred, and only then drop it.

Golden pieces

Some of the pieces are golden. Placing them well earns extra points, and they are also how you unlock new features, so they deserve a little extra care whenever they come along.

Controls and tips

On a computer, Space drops the current piece, R starts the run again and M mutes the sound. On a phone or tablet, tapping anywhere on the screen drops the piece instead.

• Watch the piece pass over the rocket once before you commit.
• Aim for the centre every time, since a steady rocket is one that can keep growing.
• Save your most careful drops for the golden pieces.
• Press R whenever you want a fresh run.
