Different places, different driving

The locations are more than a change of scenery, since each scenario comes with its own particular features. The description gives two examples from opposite ends of the scale. In Alaska you cross snowy tundra and meet very few other cars, while Los Angeles puts you on a busy city highway where the traffic is far heavier. Berlin and Rome are on the list as well, along with other destinations around the world. A quiet road through the snow and a crowded highway ask for different kinds of attention, so choosing where to drive also decides what kind of drive you get.

Racing or free driving

The game offers a racing mode and a free mode. The racing mode carries the single-player campaign, so it is the one to pick when you want a set path to work through. Free mode takes that structure away: you choose the bus you want and the city to drive it in, then set off. That makes it the natural place to try out the different buses in a city you like, before or instead of taking on the campaign.

Inside or outside the bus

The game gives you more than one camera. You can drive in first person, looking out from the bus itself, or switch to a third-person view that shows the vehicle from outside. The first puts you where a driver would sit; the second lets you see the bus itself and the road around it, which can make it easier to judge your position among other traffic while you get used to handling something this large.
